# Why isn't my Master Arm not connecting to Reach Control on Linux?

Tested on Linux 22.04 with Reach Control V3.11.20.

When connecting a Master Arm to Reach Control Linux via a /dev/ttyUSB port, ensure that the Master Arm is physically connected to the computer and the port has been assigned **before** creating the port and device in Reach Control.

If you create the port in Reach Control first, the /dev/ttyUSB port may not appear in the list once the Master Arm is connected, and the connection to Reach Control will not work.
